Coronary Artery Disease Write for Us

Coronary Artery Disease Write for Us – Plaque accumulation in the arteries that feed blood to the heart causes coronary artery disease. Plaque is made up of cholesterol encrustations. Plaque formation causes the inside of the arteries to narrow over time. Atherosclerosis is the term for this process. The most prevalent kind of cardiac disease in the US is coronary artery disease (CAD). It is also known as ischemic heart disease or coronary heart disease.

Reasons for  CAD

CAD, or coronary artery disease CAD is caused by plaque formation in the coronary artery walls, which provide blood to the heart and other organs.

In the artery, deposits of cholesterol and other chemicals form plaque. Over time, plaque development causes the inside of the streets to be thin, which can either wholly or partially obstruct blood flow.

Coronary Artery Disease Symptoms

The most common sign of CAD is angina, or chest pain and discomfort. An extensive buildup of plaque in the arteries can cause angina. Because they can limit lifeblood flow to the heart muscle and the rest of the body, narrowed arteries can result in chest discomfort. When a person has CAD, it is the first sign that they are having a heart attack.

Heart attacks are more likely to occur in those with CAD.

Symptoms of a heart attack include:

  • Angina-like soreness in the chest
  • Experiencing fatigue, dizziness, nausea, or a cold sweat.
  • Shortness of breath; soreness in the shoulders or arms

CAD can eventually make the heart muscle weak. Heart failure is a dangerous disorder in which the heart cannot pump blood as effectively as it should.

Risk factors for Coronary Artery Disease(CAD)

Inactivity, lousy diet, smoking, and being overweight are risk factors for coronary artery disease. A family history of the condition increases the chance of developing heart disease, mainly if the affected family members are young (50 years or younger).

How is Coronary Artery Disease  Diagnosed?

If you’re at high risk for heart disease or have symptoms, your doctor can use several tests to diagnose CHD.

Test what it does.

An ECG or EKG (electrocardiogram)                     measures your heartbeat’s electrical activity and the rate and regularity.

An echocardiogram uses ultrasound (a unique sound wave) to create an image of the heart.

During an exercise stress test, your heart rate is monitored as you jog on a treadmill. It assists in determining how well your heart functions while pumping more blood.

X-rays of the chest provide images of the heart, lungs, and other internal organs.

Cardiac catheterization involves passing a small, flexible tube into a vein in the groin, arm, or neck to the heart to examine the arteries for blockages from the inside. In addition to taking blood samples from the spirit and injecting dye into the coronary arteries, medical personnel can evaluate the blood pressure inside the heart and the force of blood flow through its chambers.

Coronary angiography monitors blockages and blood flow through the coronary arteries. X-rays are used to detect the dye injected through the heart catheterization.

A coronary calcium scan is a computerized tomography (CT) scan that checks for calcium deposits and plaque in the coronary arteries.
